1 – a chance meeting on my space led to a semi-blind date.
2 – the semi-blind date led to a long talk on the phone, sushi in fullerton, beer at slide bar, an arm around the shoulder, and a kiss.
3 – the long phone call, sushi, beer, arm around the shoulder, and kiss led to mass texting.
4 – mass texting arranged date nights bowling and being together.
5 – date nights bowling and being together led to huntington beach, shrimp cocktails at avila’s el ranchito, drinks at perq’s bar, and a walk on the huntington beach pier.
6 – huntington beach, shrimp cocktails at avila’s el ranchito, drinks at perq’s bar, and a walk on the pier led to love, laughter, fun, and a “trip to an old surf spot in san diego” switcheroo proposal at the tide pools in la jolla
7 – love, laughter, fun, and a “trip to an old surf spot in san diego” switcheroo proposal at the tide pools in la jolla led to a smile, and a yes.
there it is. the seven degrees of kathleen and john’s wedding. it’s kind of like the six degrees of kevin bacon except kathleen and john have one more degree, so they win.
although we didn’t get a chance to do an engagement session with them, john and kathleen made up for it on their wedding day by making time for us to get lots of fun shots. we used just about every square inch of their wedding venue, the awesome seven degrees art gallery in laguna beach california.
kathleen and john, we want to thank you, your families, and your entire smokin hot bridal party for letting us have our way with you all. we love it when people are down for whatever we can dream up. it’s clear that you share our vision… it’s fun to have fun. we really enjoyed our whole day with you, especially when we tried to leave at the end of the night and discovered our car battery was dead. you really went above and beyond for us by staying to help us out and make sure we got back on our way home safely. we can’t thank you enough. even if we didn’t know the seven degrees of you two, that one act proves just how awesome you both are. we wish you many many happy years traveling, fishing, laughing, and being in each other’s arms. hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in hawaii! see you soon.
no stress here. every bride should be this happy on her wedding day.
are those estrada sunglasses?
we took lots of pictures of kathleen getting ready, but they’re all a big scam. she was actually already beautiful before the first click of our shutter.
kathleen’s hair and makeup were flawless. she reminds me of a certain hollywood actress. any guesses who?
kathleen’s garter added a little more color to the gallery.
kathleen, courtney, and shereen looked absolutely stunning.
i can neither confirm nor deny the existence of a tear on john’s face when he first saw kathleen on their wedding day. one thing i do know is that he was very happy.
this is why we love it when couples decide to do their first look away from the aisle and everyone else. they get to just be themselves and enjoy a few minutes alone with each other on their wedding day. it’s such a special moment.
we were saddened to hear that kathleen’s father passed away less than 30 days before her wedding. he was remembered with this single rose during the ceremony and in a slideshow during the reception. he was dearly missed, and was definitely in everyone’s heart.
kathleen and john’s friend linda did an amazing job officiating their ceremony.
this is what han solo would have looked like if he were a beautiful woman frozen in ice instead of a scoundrel frozen in carbonite.
as a man, this is definitely not the reaction you want to see when there’s a crowd around your junk. everyone was actually looking at the picture after this one on the back of my camera.
you all rule! thanks for being so much fun travis, courtney, jason, shereen, kathleen, and john.
kathleen made this sweet wedding cake topper. john is a big-time fisherman. my favorite quote from john is, “if it swims, i’m gettin that ish.”
something tells me this isn’t the first time kathleen and john have steamed up an elevator.
sparkler exits are the best!
hook, ring, and sinker
any guesses as to what the rings are on? sorry john, you’re disqualified for being too good.
