this post and photographs brought to you by me (kim), april, and my girl nely.
so here’s sarah and evan’s vintage wedding in my rad city, San Diego, the best city in the world if you ask me, and if you disagree, you’d be wrong. *wink*
but seriously, you’d be wrong.
to be more specific, their wedding was in the beautiful backyard of evan’s step-father gary in the hills of Fallbrook. it started out with me doing windows, the landscaping crew finishing the landscaping, the re-attachment of one arm on an amazonian statue of a woman that was 20 feet tall if she was a foot, the freezing cold (for san diego), and the walk-in fireplace raining ash down on the guests. it was awesome. it was a wedding. with all that, it still only started an hour behind schedule. 60 percent of the time, weddings always start right on time. no worries though. everyone was stoked to see sarah and evan get married. they were worth the wait. both sarah and evan looked amazing!
i can’t tell you how awesome it is to have couples that just fit, ya know? we had a rad time shooting their vintage engagement session, complete with sprinkles cupcakes that fell out of the box onto the floor of the car. it took all we had not to scoop those bad boys up, Â a la that friends episode where rachel and chandler eat the stolen cheesecake off the floor. we’re thrilled sarah and evan went with us. knowing that david would be shooting another wedding on their day, april, nely, and i had to bring it.
this wedding had everything… a rad adventurous couple, ridiculously funny bridal party, a candy bar that rivals all candy bars (something like 700 lbs of candy. well, maybe not that much. the table it sat on would have crumbled, but it was all-lot), unreal diy decor, grandma of the bride that had us laughing the whole day, saying things like “i don’t care if the beer makes you have to pee… drink it!” and “i’m on blood thinners and these shoes are gonna make me bleed out!” sarah’s mom had us rolling too when she told us about the poms. finger quotes “if anyone tells you a diy project by martha stewart is easy, freaking strangle them!” Â the pomanders were made by her family, and impeccably done btw.
loved their whole family!
some of my favorite details were the lights hanging from all the trees, the beer that flowed like wine, and the sounds of froggies croaking everywhere. i felt like i was in a galaxy far far away camping or something. us burbies don’t hear frogs very often. later that night i found out april caught one of the croaking perpetrators out of the pool. yes, you heard right, the pool.
it. was. awesome. anyway, i could go on, but as you can tell by my awesome writing, there’s a reason why i don’t write the posts. this mess will kill david when he proof reads it. (it did) if this were an assignment there’d be red marks ALL over it (there were), but hey i’m no george lucas. wait…
ok, without further ado, i bring you the couple of the hour… sarah and evan!
sarah and evan, you rule! we wish you two the happiest of marriages ever! we are so looking forward to your bridal session! it’s gonna be crazy insane awesome!
special thanks to everyone and everything that helped make sarah and evan’s wedding an epic event:
