chris and shannon’s wedding at the Santa Barbara Courthouse was not only my first wedding of 2011, it was nothing short of amazing.
the weather, the venue, the couple, the fun families, everything about the wedding was perfect, but the most amazing thing about the whole day is that shannon and chris put it all together in less time than it took the millennium falcon to make the kessel run.
we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day if God was our old college room mate. i love santa barbara. i don’t think i’ve ever been there when it wasn’t beautiful. i have to admit, when chris and shannon first told me they were getting married in a courthouse my mind instantly flashed to visions of them walking down a hallway lined with lawyers and accused criminals, but then i saw images of it. it’s like a time machine into california’s past. if you’ve never been there you should pick a weekend and go. the mural room at the historic santa barbara courthouse, where chris and shannon had their ceremony, is worth the trip all by itself.
shannon and chris, i don’t know how you did it, but you totally pulled it off. you guys looked incredible, and your smiles told everyone exactly how much you love each other. you both had total permagrins going like you were on your first date or something. i loved it! i said it in your sneak peek and i’ll say it again, i hope every wedding i ever shoot from now on has families as fun as yours. that’s how everybody should be on a wedding day… happy.
congratulations you two! here’s to every day being at least as awesome as this one was.
shannon chose to get ready for her big day in a sweet ocean view room at Hotel Oceana in Santa Barbara. she also chose my absolute favorite hair and makeup team on the planet, christin and ashley from Luna Bella.
can you tell i was loving shannon’s wedding dress and seriously swanky Badgley Mischka heels
just a couple last touches and…
wazaam! shannon and stunning both start with an s and have to n’s in the middle. coincidence?
shannon couldn’t stop smiling when she saw chris. i think she might like him or something.
zoolander has blue steel. chris has his football look. shannon has… shannon wins.
these pink flowers only bloom for a short time every year. i don’t know what they’re called, but i’m glad we were there to see them.
you know it’s go time when the veil comes out. here’s a peek into the mural room where the ceremony was.
how insanely awesome is this room? this is only one wall. wait until you see the rest.
shannon and chris both wrote their own vows. shannon said her beautiful words first,
then the pastor looked to chris and said, “good luck following that.”
shannon and chris, thank you. i am so glad we met and that i got to photograph your beautiful wedding. i’m even more glad that i’m done working on your photos. you’re too good looking. it’s making me self conscious. seriously though, i love you guys like a wino loves wine. not boone’s farm. the good stuff.
california uber alles
