the first time rushmi and chico met was not one of those rainbows and unicorns kind of moments. it was a bit like trying to start a 1972 cadillac on a wintery new york morning.
chances of success… iffy at best.
feeling confident, you sit down and give it a shot. (rushmi, meet “someone else who has an interesting job.”)
initially, it sounds like it’s going to start. (“what was your name again?”)
maybe just another try. (“chico”)
pump the gas pedal a few times. (hi, i’m rushmi. i work in jersey and i’m super passionate about what i do.)
third times a charm. (i want to top her with what I do for a living. i want to blow her mind. i want to keep the conversation going and really impress this girl. “my family business…” )
eventually, all you hear are clicks, and silence. (“turmeric…curry powder….import….distribution….garlic flakes…”)
as you’re sitting there, cold and alone in the same spot you were 15 minutes before, watching some homeless guy wiz on your tire, you realize you’re not going anywhere today.
luckily, new york has subways and chico and rushmi have their mutual friend pramit.
if at first you don’t succeed, leave it up to your friend pramit to save the day.
did someone call for a jump start?
two weeks after their first meeting, pramit somehow managed to convey the awesomeness of chico to rushmi (without chico even being there) and obtained rushmi’s phone number for chico. soon after, rushmi made chico the luckiest guy alive. and the rest, chico says, is slumdog history.
pramit gets my vote for wingman of the year.
recently, rushmi and chico took a quick trip from new york out to our fair city and asked us to do their engagement session in san diego. our crazy summer schedule somehow lined up perfectly. since chico proposed to rushmi on the shores of the hudson river in new york we thought doing their engagement session on the opposite shore of america was fitting, and a lot warmer. this first shot is the latest in a large and ever growing set of heisman pose shots that chico and rushmi have done since they began dating.
move over reggie bush. chico and rushmi are bringing the heisman back to san diego.
i don’t know what they were laughing about here, but it’s probably something we can’t talk about in front of parents.
rushmi isn’t fooling anyone. she’s totally in love with chico.
one of the first things chico noticed when he met rushmi was her eyes. in his words, “she was beautiful. i mean like really beautiful. her big eyes took over half her face.”
love this next shot. you guys look so happy together!
it’s almost party time! grab the grey goose and the gnarly head. let’s make some avaaj (noise) for this beautiful couple!
have an awesome wedding and a happy life together. mubarkaan (congratulations) chico and rushmi!
