our first meeting with jane and garie was a lot like their first meeting with each other.
we were at work. it was pretty low key. we introduced ourselves and found out that we both love san diego.
it was love at first sight.
they had us as soon as they said that garie and his groomsmen would be wearing chargers shoes for the wedding. at the time jane and garie booked us, their wedding was on a very distant page in our calendar. kim and i love the time in between our first meeting with a couple and their ceremony. jane and garie’s wedding day was anticipated by us almost as much as it was by them. we loved sharing emails and texts, and really geeked out when we got them in front of our cameras. we did part 1 of their engagement session at san diego state university (their alma mater). part 2 was shot in the shadows of qualcomm stadium, home of our san diego chargers (who, btw, are killing us softly, but that is a whole different story). jane and garie got HUGE double bonus points for giving us a big chargers flag just before their shoot. we think of them every time we see it waving. mahalo plenty!
we counted down as months turned to minutes and finally jane and garie’s big day was upon us. our time with these two has been really fun and their wedding was no different.
the day began with jane and garie’s quiet, traditional wedding ceremony at st. columba catholic church. afterwards we made a stop down at spanish landing park for some fun shots of the wedding party before heading over to anchors catering and conference center for their reception that lasted into the night. everyone wanted a shot with the beautiful couple. guests lined up around the room to get a shot with them. the ohana photobooth was on and poppin.
we had so much fun, but now that jane and garie’s wedding is over, kim and i are a little sad. it’s kind of like the day after christmas, except christmas comes around every year.
well jane and garie, since you guys can’t get married every year you’ll just need to keep having some kind of major event every year or so for us to anticipate with you.
hmmm. what could it be?
hey, i know! kids!
lots of em.
we love you guys! you are one of the sweetest couples we know. the fact that you are fans of all things san diego makes us love you even more. kim and i wish your new ohana a lifetime of happiness. you deserve all the blessings life has to offer.
before we begin the photos, kim and i would like to ask everyone to help us out a little bit. we want to give jane and garie an enlargement from their wedding but can’t decide which one to give. this is where you can help.
in sticking with the theme since the chargers just celebrated their 50th anniversary,
the first image below to get 50 votes wins!
you can vote for more than one image, but only one will win.
thanks everyone!
now we know the true identity of the white wedding ninja. jane looked drop dead beautiful.
garies nerves may have been shaky just before the ceremony, but his tux was on point.
one of jane’s bridesmaids has a mom with some amazing sewing skills. she made jane’s beautiful long veil. i can’t even make a sock monkey.
this is what it would look like if i talked smack about the chargers in front of jane and garie’s posse.
grely was surprised at how well gerald played the role of garie’s beautiful bride for this reenactment. as were we. nice work gentlemen.
the photo booth was in full effect for jane, garie, and all of their awesome guests, like christina and eric here.
is that it?
NO WAY!
the money dance is your chance to do the hump, wait… yeah that’s right.
during the reception jane and garie dimmed the lights and showed us all a little video they made that began with jane cooking up some bombtastic ramen noodles and ended with jane and garie battling it out on the gridiron to determine if garie would, or would not, have to see twilight with jane. needless to say, team garie went down like a sparkly vampire in sunlight.
i, like my broham garie, am not a fan of twilight. especially not edward the volvo driving vampire. kim however, weakened by her love of hairless chests, signed up for team jacob. oy.
no shame garie. we get to keep our man points under rule 24 article d of the bro code.
it states that if a dude sees a chick flick (twilight definitely qualifies) no man points shall be deducted if it was watched in the company of a woman with whom he is trying to gain approval and or affection from, or if said woman is his spouse or child.
being the only man in my house, you know i find all the loopholes.
at this time kim wanted me to clarify her previously stated love only extends to team jacob himself, NOT to the twilight series. that is all.
before we wrap things up i just want to send a big mahalo out to all the vendors that put in some amazing work behind the scenes to help make jane and garie’s wedding as perfect as it could be.

on behalf of jane, garie, and our ohana, thanks everyone! you made everything picture perfect.
lastly, we’d like to thank and congratulate jane and garie! thank you for letting us share some sweet times with you. we wish you a happy long life together. enjoy every day with each other, even if you have to give in a little every now and then.
we now present team jane and team garie’s twilight themed ring shots. since jane already picked edward you get jacob garie. sorry bro. at least he’s a werewolf. team bella is just lame no matter what side of the fence you’re on. i mean seriously. who picks a movie like face punch for date night? O-M-G, did i really just say that?
one last note. as the reception began, jane and garie stood before their friends and family and thanked everyone for their support. jane’s son jhovani, who’s life was tragically taken at the age of 4, was not physically at the wedding, but was most definitely there in everyone’s thoughts and hearts. there wasn’t a dry eye in the room when jane and garie spoke of him. his picture was never far from them throughout the day. rest in peace little one.
