there once was a lion named ruben, like the sandwich, but not spelled the same. he was the king of all wild things, livin large, playing video games, watching superman movies, doing whatever he wanted to, but he was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him. he wanted someone to share all that fun with, so he gave up being king and set off to find her.
he searched and searched, through a forrest of birch, under an eagle’s perch, and finally in a church. it was there, behind a gnu on a pew, that he saw the most beautiful creature he had ever seen…
a giraffe with a laugh named amy.
all the giraffes he had passed in the past had never laughed.
“this one must be special!” he gasped.
he approached her all sly, the way every other lion did,
but she could tell he was different. his heart was so big.
they began to talk, and quickly discovered they liked the same things… movies, music, and il postino onion rings.
they both knew this was no coincidence. no way it was just chance.
suddenly a car rolled by playing baby got back, and they both started to dance.
from that moment on they’re friendship got stronger. laughing alone is something they did no longer.
fast forward through time to amy’s father’s birthday meal, nervously ruben got beside amy and started to kneel.
in her comfy clothes, make-up-less and unsuspecting,
amy turned to see ruben on one knee, with a question and ring.
of course she said yes and everyone roared loud. that night amy and ruben left on a cloud.
and that’s the story of the lion that fell in love with a giraffe.
love you ruben and amy!
amy said that ruben is her super man. these two together are better than the incredibles.
why do flamingos smell like this?
while i was taking pictures of ruben and amy, kim focused in on the little guy in the background and swears he did this.
this shot makes us laugh every time we see it.
how cute are they?
thank you amy and ruben for running all over the san diego zoo with us and acting like super heroes and wild animals. i wish everyone could have this much fun two days before their wedding.
