happy new year everyone!!!
i apologize for just kind of falling off the map in december. we were super busy trying to finish as much as we could. it was only days before Christmas when we finally called the year a wrap. craziness. i don’t know about you, but 2011 could not have ended fast enough for us. of course, we are super thankful for everyone we got to work with, but things at home were tough. keeping busy was the only thing that somewhat pulled our minds away from thinking about pops. since losing him in june we are still trying to figure out how to live without him. the holidays were definitely not the same, especially Christmas. hopefully 2012 will distance us from the pain of loss and bring us closer to inner peace.
while we’re waiting for that to happen, i want to thank all of you for the love and support you continue to throw our way. you guys rule!
ok, with all of that out of the way, here is our first blog post of the new year!
alright, say hello to honey and jomar! with all the out of state weddings we did last year it was kind of nice to have one in our home town. honey and jomar’s wedding showed just why we love to live and work in san diego. when a lot of other places are battoning down the hatches for winter we’re still soaking up the sun. their day was absolutely perfect!
it started down at the Island Palms Hotel in Shelter Island where everyone got ready. next, we headed to Little Italy for their ceremony at the beautiful Our Lady of the Rosary Church. if you are in san diego you have to see this place! after saying their “i do’s” we ran back out to Shelter Island for some quick bridal portraits before heading downtown to get the party started at Anchors.
honey and jomar, you guys looked amazing! thank you again for having such a fun wedding and for letting us be there to shoot it. three of my favorite moments were…
1 – when i first saw each of you that day. i loved getting to hang out with both of you before game time. honey was all smiles, and jomar was all nervous. classic you.
2 – when you both smiled and waved to me while i was trying to be sneaky and take some shots during your ceremony from the priest’s ready room. you put a smile on my face.
3 – when you guys busted out the star wars masks in the photo booth and jomar wrote “i am your husband.” Â awesome!
who am i kidding. i can’t just pick three things. we loved everything about your wedding! especially seeing our good friends jane and garie, grely’s dance moves, and don’t even get me started on your bridal party. they were all awesome! nate had kim rolling all night with his hi-jinks. oh, that reminds me, you might not want to ever pass out at a wedding with your friends around. you never know what kind of incriminating photos could be taken. (see below)
hope you guys had a fun new year’s eve. can’t wait to see you for your aftermath session!
thanks to everyone that helped make honey and jomar’s wedding awesome!
