what is up everyone! are you ready for some football! um, i mean to see some more of the uber rad thu and jason‘s rochester wedding of rock and roll awesomeness?!
before we get to the images though we have to tell you a little something about them. if you don’t eat yer meat, you can’t have any pudding!
early this year after jason proposed to thu we received an email inquiry that went a little something like this…
“good day. my future bride and I attended the wedding of man & whitney last august and we’re floored by their pictures, as well as your presence during the event. (i.e. keeping up with every memorable moment) Thu (that’s my lady friend) and I would be honored to have you photograph our wedding as well. please contact me as soon as you are able, so that we may set up a wondrous transaction of ideas and currency! thank you kindly.” – Jason
we were immediately stoked and…
turned cartwheels ‘cross the floor
i was feeling kinda seasick
but the crowd called out for more
the room was humming harder
as the ceiling flew away
when we called out for another drink
the waiter brought a tray.
instantly, planning phase 1 went into full effect. we were going to do the baxter’s drive across america again! yay!
BUT (big but), due to time constraints we ended up flying instead of driving, much to kim’s disappointment. <—- this is pretty much her every time we fly. haha! either way, we got to the east coast to see our awesome couple.
the first thing that comes to mind when we think about thu and jason is how freakin cool they are. they’re cooler than freddie jackson sippin a milkshake in a snowstorm. they were super fun to shoot and kept us smiling all day. although we had never officially met them in-person before the day of their rehearsal, we fell in love with them through cyber space (in the facebook friends kinda way, not the skeevy-red-light-website-that’s-blocked-on-your-work-computer kinda way.) when we finally hooked up at their rehearsal/dinner we found out they were even cooler in person than they are in email. we got to spend the whole afternoon with them, their awesome family, and friends eating king crab legs, dinosaur bbq and all kinds of ridiculously good asian style grinds at the’ and hong’s home.
let me just say… they can cook!
as if the insanely good food wasn’t enough, we couldn’t have felt more comfortable, welcome, and at home if we were sitting in our own home wearing baggy sweats and bunny slippers.
thu and jason, WE LOVE YOU and your whole ohana! you guys are one in a million. hopefully we’ll get to come back to rochester and see you all again really soon. hint, hint, thoan.
as for now, we still have a grip of sessions from new york and hawaii to post, and that all day blackout we had didn’t help, so away we go!!
see you cats on the flip flop.
van you did an amazing job beautifying all the girls.
b bling
eli put out the vibe and jill, b, and thu were loving it
where’s your favorite place to smoosh ya boo?
we don’t typically post family portraits but this is just too awesome
when we went to do portraits after the ceremony the bus broke down so jason busted out the only available transportation.
jill and thien sittin by some trees. k-i-s-s-i-n-g
classic jason
classic chucks
of all the big buck hunters, thu is the big buck hunteriest
you might not want to run into jason and thu in a dark alley, but we did.
who wants a garbage plate?! sky was the only one bold enough to risk it before a reception.
best card box ever! thu and jason’s guests put their wedding cards in this old amp casing. the guitar was for guests to autograph.
red chucks rule!
since there were two guitars for guests to sign we had to get in on one.
as the reception began there was an electronics problem with jason’s dj equipment. lots of the guys at the wedding tried to help but in the end it was whitney that saved the day. man said something like “there’s ten asians over there and the one white girl fixes it.” good one man. man is a fuuny guy!
what a girl wants…
don’t stop. make it pop. dj blow my speakers up. tuyet and b gettin the dance floor going.
thu dancing with her dad was super sweet. the father/daughter dance always get me.
jason and his mom kicked it up a notch with enter sandman.
then all H-E-double-hockey-sticks broke loose when thu, corey, kenny, andrew, and a mob of other people rushed the floor to mosh with jason.
this happened all-lot throughout the evening
whatever was in that glass must have gone down like warm hot dog water. thu took it like a man. jason and thien… just took it.
nice triple-plank b.
here we have thang pointing out the secret to effective moonwalking. apparently all you need is red chucks, oh, and mad skills.
if you got a pet cat put your hands up. (nfk)
adorable!
eli might be young, but that don’t mean he doesn’t already have game.
is that labatt blue and blue light? we must be near canada eh.
only a guy named dave could drink three labatts at once.
like i said… all-lot.
you can do it man! we can all get through this together.
ok thoan, you can hug dave. how’d that one taste thang?
corey kept braggin about how he could do push ups with no feet. we didn’t believe him until…
don’t stop believing when you’re livin on a prayer
