i don’t know about you, but this weekend was fully packed for kim and i! we started with a visit from april and her pupperoni toby. she took a quick break from her new job at disney interactive to pick up rain and join the costumed crowd at comic con san diego. meanwhile, back at the Thursday Club, kim and i shot james and jillian’s wedding on saturday then i stayed up all night making a dalek stencil so rain could wear a sweet, custom, one-of-a-kind doctor who (pronounced doctah) t-shirt to comic con on sunday. when i say it took me all night, i mean all night. the sun was coming up as i finished. i tried to go to sleep but it wasn’t 2 hours later when rain woke me up and wanted to see her new shirt. i think the paint may have still been a little wet when she threw it on and headed down to the convention center. since i was up, i spent all day sunday working on photos, listening to 80’s music, and then hearing about all the cool stuff we missed at comic con.
that is it!
marking my calendar now… we are going to comic con next year! unless we book a really cool comic book themed wedding that week.
along with all that, we put together geoff (pronounced jeff) and melanie’s san diego engagement session, with field mouse included! (he was so tiny and cute. seriously, like the size of a golf ball!)
when melanie and geoff aren’t working hard, they both love to relax… by going on hikes! they inspired us to incorporate a little of that into their session. how crazy is it that they can hike through a field all dressed up, not break a sweat, and look absolutely amazing? i wish i knew their secret because i was a hot mess before the first snap of the shutter. but i digress.
melanie and geoff, after seeing what you can do in a field, we can’t wait for your wedding! see you soon.
here’s a little surprise. mid-way through the shoot melanie switched into this vintage dress that belongs to geoff’s grandma. old timey awesomeness!
thank you david and danielle for telling melanie and geoff enough good stuff about us so they’d call. love you guys!
one more thing. before this session, geoff mentioned melanie might be a little shy, but then we saw this and knew she’d be o-kizay. she rocks the bass!
