Kaplowitz Family portraits for the holidays at Old Poway Park

We love this family. Like, love love.

Why?

Because this is the kind of family that gives us the things that we want.

It was pouring, well, (pouring for San Diego) as we arrived for their session. We noticed a little apprehension as they asked where we should start. We said, “it’s just sprinkles. It’ll add to your photos, like sprinkles on cupcakes.” With that bit of reassurance they jumped in with nearly the same enthusiasm we have for Star Wars. Sorry. The Force Awakens in 9 days and we… can’t… stop… thinking about it!!!  Anywho. Matt & Linda gave us the freedom to do what we do… photograph family being family. Whether you’re in your own backyard, or a thousand miles away, HOME is wherever your family is together. Love you guys!

We now resume our previously scheduled spazzing out.

We’re not above child bribery. M&L chose M&M’s. The young Padawans caught on quickly… sort of. More on this later.

When we suggested the boys run over and hug their mom and dad, Ben ran straight to Matt. Jackson, on the other hand, took a little creative license. While Linda waited… (and waited… and waited), he ran a lap around Endor before ending up in Linda’s open arms.

And you, young Skywalker. We will watch your career with great interest.

Here’s where we get back to what I was talking about earlier.

Having been a good boy and receiving his M&M’s, Ben thought he would give the bribery thing a go. He said he was going to buy Kim a camera. He then quickly changed the offer to two. In an awesome display of finger counting prowess, he proceeded to up the ante. When he reached 6 cameras, Matt picked him up and began walking away. The number increased as quickly as Matt’s pace. Ben’s final offer, before being completely out of earshot, was 20 cameras.

It’s going to be a good Christmas.  :)
