aloha! we’re back in san diego from our (way-too-short) trip to oahu. yay! and boo.
while we are catching up on our inbox and editing our shots from all the sessions we did on oahu i thought i’d post a few of my personal shots to share a little aloha with everyone. there are plenty more where these came from. david will post his shots after we get caught up, and he has time to write a novela for his post (you know how he is).
stay tuned for morgan, mike, tanasha, pierre, jordan, ronnie, giji, jonah, rinnah, fanci, chulah, malie, jasmyn, ohana, and lots more from oahu!
for now, here are 33 things i shot (and love) in hawaii. in no particular order…
#1 – being off the plane (nothing at all against hawaiian airlines. i just hate flying. of all the airlines, hawaiian airlines rules the most.)
#2 – hawaiian palm trees. they’re slightly cooler than californian palm trees.
#3 – plumerias (my favorite smell in the world)
#4 – visiting ohana
#5 – big trees (the hitachi tree is HUGE!)
#6 – cool trees
#7 – driving to north shore
#8 – surf-n-sea in haleiwa
#9 – seeing how many large items we can pack in a rental car.
#10 – the water
#11 – the sand (and tan sandy hawaiian buns)
#12 – watching people eat it at sandys
#13 – sandy waves
#14 – watching rain and noah make sand cities
#15 – seeing how brave everyone gets in the shorebreak at sandys
#16 – my man
#17 – people watching at the beach
#18 – outdoor showers on the beach
#19 – outdoor showers on the beach sans low-flow showerheads
#20 – the sun, the sand, and the water
#21 – sunset beach
#22 – the view from my favorite shave ice place
#23 – owls and other random wildlife (like geckos. not cane spiders.)
#24 – the view and the sweet smell while driving by the dole plantation and pineapple fields
#25 – hawaiian pineapples
#26 – fresh fruit at roadside stands
#27 – all the spam you can give me
#28 – being there with family and friends
#29 – sea turtles (aye, sea turtles)
#30 – dogs on the beach
#31 – the best rainbows in the world. they even have black and white rainbows!
#32 – sunsets on north shore
#33 – being at the beach until it gets dark
that’s not even close to everything i love about hawaii, but that’s it for now. aloha everyone!
