i can’t mention wilbur and catherine without mentioning music.
wilbur’s guitar made regular appearances over the time catherine had known wilbur. he had serenaded her several times before, but one special night last april was different. it was her birthday, and he had a new song to sing. this one was his own, his first song and composition. it contained custom lyrics with various relationship questions, and one very important question.
as he began to sing to her she had a few of her own lyrics. “did you make this up?” Â “this sounds like the other song.” Â “shut up!” Â “haha” Â etc.
in between his lyrics, wilbur replied in-kind “yes (i wrote it)” Â “it’s a different song” Â “no” etc.
eventually the tempo slowed and these special lyrics followed:
the heart is pounding loudly
nervous hands freezing cold
using all my energy
no, i’m not that old.
here i go down on one knee
hope it’s all you dreamt it to be
kaye cruz will you marry me?
one “oh sh*#! are you serious” and a “yes!” from kaye later, they were engaged. soon they’ll be sealing the deal. we can’t wait for their wedding at the hard rock hotel in san diego! after which we’ll be packing ourselves into their luggage to sneak onto the plane for their honeymoon in hawaii. just imagine the picture of their faces as they open their luggage and see us smiling up at them. it’s gonna be epic.
