you love disneyland? no way! we love disneyland! let’s meet there and take pictures of your family. ok!
that’s pretty much how this session came about. kimberly, jamie, and kailee are all big time disney fans like us, so doing their family photo at disneyland was a must. disneyland is pretty rad all on it’s own, but it’s even better when you’re there with someone that loves it as much as you do. we loved every minute with these guys. if you couldn’t already tell from their header photo, this family is beyond awesome, and is as sweet as pie.
after their session my kim and i decided to take a few detail shots of disneyland, but that soon turned into a full blown scavenger hunt for architecture that looked like letters. you wouldn’t think so, but the letter k, as in “killing me” was one of the hardest ones to find. it was insane, but here’s what we found.
kim
jamie
kailee. notice the L. it’s the measurement stick from gadget’s go coaster that kailee totally crushed (by a quarter of an inch).
are you kidding me with these eyes?!
nobody bribed kailee with m&m’s. not at all. er, um.
walking through the park with kimberly, jamie, and kailee was super fun, but we were stoked to be a part of a big first for kailee. here we were, on kailee’s first roller coaster ride ever, gadget’s go coaster in toon town. rain and i were sitting in the car in front of kailee and kimberly, and jaime was in the car right behind them. we’re zooming along and all of a sudden kailee puts both hands in the air. so cool! she’s a full on gamer! i’ll probably check my email one day and find a picture of her on top of mount everest, when she’s 9.
remember jamie’s face here. kailee has a great memory. see her ability to recall later in the post.
one of my favorites of the day.
love the shot my kim took here on the right.
kailee is so stinkin cute i can’t stand it.
this is what family is all about. these happy faces make me smile big smiles.
i totally see rain and myself in this shot. kailee is doing what every little girl in a dress does and jamie is reacting like every father does. classic.
dream sweet.
i thought i heard kailee yell something like “you’re lucky this rope is holding me back!” but i can’t be sure.
i can’t decide what’s more precious. the wonder in a child’s eyes…
their smiles…
or their little kisses.
since kimberly and jamie introduced us to this, i have to share it with everyone. if you’re not already hip to the fact, cafe orleans in new orleans square has the bomb monte cristo. it’s not even funny how good they are. even if you have to wait through two restaurant evacuating fire alarms (like we did), you need to try one. they are totally worth the wait.
kimberly and jamie treated kim and i to the aforementioned monte cristo awesomeness (seen here on the left) and treated rain to a plate of rat-patootie, i mean, ratatouille. it was all insanely good!
i hope you’re bracing yourself because you are about to be blown away by an explosion of cuteness. my kim captured the explosion just before it temporarily blinded us.
kaboooooom!!!
serendipitously, right after kailee turned into a frog, disney’s frog princess walked by and changed her back? how cool is that? thanks tiana!
go ahead. you can say it.
awwwwwwww.
here’s another comparison of how different my kim and i see through the lens. her shot is on the left and mine is, well, the other one. she’ll do a little victory dance for this, but i think i like her shot more than mine. wait, did i say that out loud?
thank you for making the trip out west kimberly, jamie, and kailee. you made disneyland an even happier place. it was so awesome working with you all. kimberly, knowing what it’s like on the other side of the lens was a huge help. your energy and laughter was amazing! mahalo plenty!
